Meal delivery software for kitchen managers
A kitchen manager needs one thing from software above all others: a number they can trust before they start cooking, that nobody will change halfway through the morning.
Trust in the number is the whole requirement
Most kitchen managers in this business keep a private sheet somewhere, because the official list was once wrong at a bad moment. That sheet is a rational response to an untrustworthy number, and no amount of training removes it.
The only durable fix is derivation. If the cook list is computed from the same customer selections as the labels and the manifest, there is nothing for a private sheet to be more accurate than — and it quietly disappears.
What to insist on
The list is frozen at the cut-off
A number that can change after prep has begun is not a plan. Late changes should roll forward, not rewrite this morning.
Conflicts appear before cooking
Allergen problems at the top of the day’s list, not discovered by the packing bench mid-run.
Aggregate for cooking, individual for packing
Two views of the same day, from the same data. Names are noise on a cook list and essential on a label.
Recipe names your team reads
Bilingual where the brigade and the menu are written in different languages.
What it does not replace
This is not a HACCP system, a temperature log, or a food safety management programme. It tells you what to produce and flags a customer-level allergen conflict; it does not manage your hygiene records or your critical control points.
It also does not schedule your brigade or cost your labour. Those remain separate problems with separate tools.
Common questions
- Can the cook list change after prep has started?
- It should not. Once the cut-off passes the day is frozen, and later changes roll to the next open week. A list that can move mid-morning is not a plan and will not be trusted.
- Does this replace our food safety records?
- No. It is not a HACCP system and holds no temperature logs or hygiene records. It flags customer-level allergen conflicts, which is a different and narrower thing.
- Why do kitchens keep a private spreadsheet?
- Because the official list was wrong once at a bad moment. It stops when the official number is derived from customer selections rather than typed, because then there is nothing more accurate to keep.
